Set back so God can work!

I just read molly's blog on set backs.  Wow! just what I needed to read today! Our set backs are a way God uses to show His power,  His strength,  His mercy,  His compassion, His faithfulness.

Molly posted this she got from a pastor! This spoke to my life right now.  How many times do I look at set backs as failures? My failures,  if I was a better mother my kids would be more loving,   repent more,  more thoughtful,  more compassionate.  My sinful side goes to how can I control this verses praying that God would help me use this as a growth opportunity.

Set backs with family I get upset,  instead of thanking God for all He has done. Set back of health and I look at how to control or what did I not do.
Believing comes from hearing,  hearing the word of God. I must believe, we must believe,  that our faith in Christ is enough!  It is enough to get us to the other side of this set back,  faith that we will see  God do the impossible in this situation,  believe that God is in control and we are not. Faith and knowledge that the end of the story is that God will stomp santan under His foot, God is the God of the universe and He is in sovereign control of our lives.

Set backs are ways to see God 's power,  might and loving kindness.

I am resting in the truth of His faithfulness of what He is doing.  I have to!  I am so out of control in what is happening right now!

How about set backs in relationships?  We hurt those we love and don't realize what we do because we are focused on us.
Lord, I pray you will open my eyes today to see all the ways I fall short and am not loving others well.  May my heart be broke for what breaks your heart.  May I love You with all my heart, soul, and mind,  then love my wonderful hubby and family , then my neighbor as myself.  I love myself with out any effort, l look out for what I want,  what I think is best.  Lord, may You squash this thinking and remind me I have the rights of a slave.
May my eyes be open to not see what I want but to have eyes to see and ears to hear what others think and not discount it right away but ask first- what is true about this?  What is right,  excellent,  and praiseworthy?  Where am I disregarding because it is not what I think is right,  what I want?  Lord, give me a chance to step back with clear vision and think before my mouth speaks.
