Halloween ugga!
Halloween! This so called holiday has become an interesting time in our home. We have not been home every other year for the past 7 years!
The boys have been at nationals on Halloween. When we are at nationals we are in a hotel room ordering pizza and watching a movie. Last year was a Halloween town marathon!
When we are in town we have ordered pizza (we have ordered pizza on Halloween for 21 years!) and then turn all the lights off inside and watch a movie. Well, the older boys and us parents watch the movie, the girls go out trick-or-treating! We leave our pumpkin outside with "something kinda healthy"! Yep, I am that person who hands out pretzels, popcorn, rings, and anything else I think would be a better idea for the kids than lots of candy! Honestly, I also do it because if we have the good candy - I eat it!! Yes, I eat it and then I totally regret it! Not just the pounds but the jaw that locks up from eating snickers bars and the teeth that hurt for days because of the sugar! So why do I eat it knowing how much it hurts? Because it is good that's why! Nothing better than chocolate and peanuts or peanut butter!!
This year, well it was so different it was a little hard for me! My baby was the only one who dressed up for school's Reformation Day for starters! She looked like a goddess but was Esther! Then we did not order pizza as a family! No, we had left overs! Needed to clean the frig out! Besides we have eaten out so much lately! My body cannot handle it!
My baby went to her friends house to get ready and go out trick-or-treating! I was so thankful that they ordered pizza! The tradition for Baby girl continued! My Sweet Pea worked then went to a bonfire, and then went to see a movie with my son and a couple of friends!
So, Chris and I sat on the couch and watched a movie! We watched Pelican Brief. We had not seen that in awhile. I like the movie, could do without the language and the nudity in it! It really is not necessary! I really think Julia Roberts gets paid more if she will show her body!
We enjoyed our time, we had a date for Halloween, instead of time with our boys or time as a family!
It's crazy watching our kids grow up! The years are clicking by and we are watching them all grow into young adults! Our oldest is now 21! Holy Toledo, batman!!! Watching them become their own people. I love watching them grow and mature, I really do. Some part in me wants to go back and enjoy just one day when they were little. When we all went out trick-or-treating as a family! When Poppy and Mumzy were the best ever!!
Baby Girl dressed up as Chewbacca! They had a blast! Her sweet friend was Princess Leia! They had two more friends with them and went out trick-or-treating until her bag broke! They stayed up til after midnight! Baby Girl had a blast! This year looked so different from the past and yet I think all enjoyed themselves!
