Long Long time ago it began!
This weekend means a lot to me! No, not because Valentine's Day, but President's weekend!
I sit and daze off many a times during this weekend! I have debating how much of the details I should share! I was not a Christ follower, so very little of my choices were Christ honoring!
Let me share the highlights of the weekend 25 years ago!
Friday - Bobbi Jo and I go out. Bobbi Jo has a new boyfriend. We see him and follow him to a party in the woods. There I go and talk to Chris, he was sick from meds he was taking, so he was in the car. Bobbi Jo and Travis are talking I am a third wheel so I go talk to Chris, its been probably 9 months since I seen him. We have small talk, then Bobbi Jo and I leave the party!
Saturday - Bobbi Jo, myself and my cousin (who I had just meet) Micheal go to Chris' house to hang out with Travis. Chris was either building a speaker box or installing a radio. I am pretty sure he was building a speaker box. Chris' brother, Micheal, was also helping. I thought a great idea for the two Micheals to talk and hang out!! Really I just wanted time with Chris. We decided to leave Chris' house , all of us but brother Micheal, and go to Perkins. I had no money so ordered nothing. Chris says I ate all his fries! The first but not the last time this would happen!
Sunday - I had to work! Did I mention that I had a boyfriend? ugh! Yeah that was one part not honoring to the Lord! Well I called Jason to let him know that I wanted to break up. He asked why and I gave him the one answer I knew he would not argue about , "I cheated on you!". Well, Chris showed up at my work (Thom McAn Shoe store in the mall) and asked when my break was. I told him I did not have a break but got off at 5pm. I believe that was all I saw him that day. I may have stayed the night at Bobbi Jo's.
Monday - President's Day! Bobbi Jo and I are at her house and Travis and Chris come over in the morning! Bobbi Jo and Travis are talking and Chris and I were messing around. I really don't know how we ended up in the middle of the road, but we were there! It was at that moment with a car coming Chris asked me the question that changed everything, "Will you go out with me?" I said Yes then asked "if I said no, would you hold me in front of the car til I said yes?" We both laughed! It was almost time for me to go to softball. We had pictures today. Hence, why the picture above is not Chris and I but it is me on the day Chris asked me to "go out with him" and change my life forever! And no the girl in the picture is not Bobbi Jo! That is Amber, she and I were really good friends during this time in my life. We had a thing going - she like Miami and I liked Florida! Yes this was the style wearing guys boxers as shorts!
Chris and I saw each other every day after that til the late Summer when I went to Tampa to stay with my sister for a week while my parents were on vacation.
Did I know 25 years ago Chris and I would be where we are today? Absolutely NOT! So how did we get here? GRACE - the Lord's grace! My mom never thought that Chris and I would be where and who we are today when this all began 25 years ago!!
