Memories!!
Last night we sat and talked about some family memories!! We love sharing and talking about the memories of the past.
Crazy thing is most of them are about the girls. We have some of the boys but not as much! I wonder why? And really we have more of Kyle than we do Tyler. Tyler was our "good" kid. He never colored the floor, carved his name in his dresser, flew down the hill just missing trees, or made anyone's room "grow". I remember thinking "It's the quiet ones you have to look out for". Tyler really was a quiet and obedient child. I am sure I will hear all kinds of stories about him as he grows older. There was a good reason why Chris bolted all shelving to studs and tested most shelves to make sure they hold an adult. Tyler was not by any means a perfect child. He was honest so you could imagine my surprise when I fould out on graduation he had been lying to me about an incident.
I do believe we can sabatosh our children's honesty by sharing our children's honesty. There really are some times we need to know the truth and not share that with other parents. Our kids may be made fun of and even left out. We need to be grateful that our kids are honest and not expect everyone's kids to be honest. Our rule has always been, you do not get in trouble for being honest!
It is great to see how our kids have grown. It is interesting to catch a glimpse of who they are as adults! Tyler is our quiet child. Makes you question what is going on in his head! Kyle is our child who appears to be up to something! Allee is our child who says things that make you go "humm", and Carmen is not old enough to see what she will be like as an adult.
All in all we have one goal for our children. One main thing when accomplished we will consider our parenting successful. We desire for our kids to love the Lord God with all their heart, soul and mind and to love others better than themselves. I pray this is the legacy we have left for them! And until this is accomplished we will pray in this way daily!!
