If time could freeze- God's best gift to me!!

Fripp Island, SC
Ever have those times when you want time to freeze??!! Do you look at times and realize you did not see what was right before your eyes??

Mommas of little children, do not see the simple little blessings right before their eyes. I know I didn't!!
Like the sound of their little ones all laughing and playing. Much to my regret these were usually the times I shut the door, or worse yet told them to quiet down.
Times when the parents plan the schedule and the little ones go along!
Times when the momma decided what was for meals and made it!
Times when the parents were so worn out that they needed a nap to stay up with the little ones!
All those times when us parents were our kids world! When they wanted to play with us! Talk to us for hours about pokey mon! (OK maybe just some of our boys did that!!)
Times when they wanted us to carry them and we could! But wouldn't because "they are old enough to walk" or just because we did not want to get sandy.
I did not realize the times we were missing, the times that were  right before our eyes!
I know I am not the only one who heard from someone how much I would miss these times and in my mind thought "yeah, right!" Thinking to my self how crazy they were or how they had no idea how my house was, how tired I am, how something I was.

Last week God gave me the best gift of them all! He gave me 6 days to catch a glimpse of all I once had, Once upon a time! God allowed me to see what I had taken for granted so many times in my kids life. As the kids grow up, they stretch their wings, they get involved in other things. We as parents, selfishly love this. We have more time for our selves. More time to do what we want to do. We rush our kids along to grow up. We rush and think what we better do because tomorrow they will be older. Before you get upset, I am not saying all this is bad. I am just saying we miss what is right before our eyes. We are so busy planning what we should do next we miss what is right before us! Maybe I am only talking about myself.

Last week was not perfect! Only one human has ever been perfect. It was tho a week where I had all four kids in one house without distractions. Without work schedules, friend schedules, busy schedules. And I LOVED IT!! I loved having my kids all together. My plan for the week was to laugh, to talk, to connect to each other! In my eyes it worked. Sure we had a couple times of attitudes, of "I don't want to's" and all the other normal sinful things. We had it and yet it was still a win! I really did not want Saturday to come. I did not want to come home to face what was coming! I also knew too much of a good thing can end up bad. I mean think of it - little piece of cake, oh so good! Big piece of cake, not so good.

Yes, as the kids get older life does look different. They do have their own thoughts and opinions. I am not foolish - for one week no one complained about what we were eating! I guess because they knew this is what we were having! The menu was on the frig, the plan was made, a grocery store was 30 mins away! It was great!!

I love the moments in time when all four are playing together! When all four are laughing!! We had a time on the beach in crazy wind playing volleyball. Allee and I were constricted to our circles, we were not aloud to hit the ball unless it came in our circle. And we laughed, all six of us were laughing and will probably not forget those times!!

Oh to have that time again and again of just listening to the laughter of my four blessings playing!

If you have little ones, please let them laugh, let them play, let the boys wrestle. There is only so long that Daddy will be stronger and bigger than they are.

Momma's sit back and take it all in! This really is some of the sweetest time you will ever get watching your little ones at play! Life is way too short to not stop and listen to the giggles!! Better yet join them in the giggles. Tickle them more, have a cake fight, play chicken in the pool! Enjoy them every day! Don't get so caught up in planning the next big trip you miss the time today with them. As my Dad said, "The future keeps changing!" Embrace today!

Yes that is me on top! Swimming at night was a great spur of the moment memory!!

Huggy wanted to live out High School Musical 2 throw back!!

My beautiful daughters. I could not be more proud of these two!!

Limo Golf Cart! That's how we roll!! Everyone switched seats constantly!!

Carmen tried it first! She went up, so of course the boys had to try the Momma!! Tried a four person but failed!!

The fruit of the womb is a reward.
