A Heart after God's Own Heart!!

This is a old picture. Its the best I have right now!
My hubby is an amazing man. If you did not already know this here's to chance to share just how amazing he is - what makes him so amazing? His heart! His heart is a heart after God's own heart. God uses this description for David, why? Because God loved David and David loved God. David desired to do God's Will, he did not function in his own strength he functioned in God's strength. Reading this morning the story of David fighting Goliath I see it differently this time!!.  (The word of God is living and active, right?)  I see the total dependence on God.   David did not see himself as independent, but as completely dependent on God. David did the unexplainable,  I mean really. Think about it. Goliath this crazy big guy and David a little warrior in statue. A rock? Really? A Rock brought him down? Does any one else find that a little crazy? David had confidence, confidence not in himself, he had confidence in His GOD!!! My hubby has had that confidence in The LORD this week. While in the hospital for 4 days not knowing what is going on he sent the second email out. Everyone who came to see him was taken by his confidence not in himself, the doctors, or anything. His confidence was in the Lord!! Please read these 2 emails he shared with our Lifegroup one before everything hit and  the last while sitting in the hospital.

Reading his first one again, I hear his heart desiring routine with no idea of what the next couple of days would look like. Although he desired routine he was reminded, as Timothy was of the supremacy of the Lord!

One may actually find this a little funny! God really does have a sense of humor. It would be sinful to say he is a little sarcastic. That's just me trying to convince myself sarcasm is not a sin!!!

Enjoy these emails!! Thanks Babe!!

"Good afternoon friends,

The past week has been out of the ordinary for many of you and me included. I may be alone here but my heart longs for routine. Get up on time, be productive at work, be healthy, be happy, be entertained, no drama, no sickness and all that stuff which is not sinful in itself until we place it as an object of worship consuming our life and thoughts. In Paul's letter to Timothy we find a weary Timothy worn down by false teachers, persecution and even suffering in his health. Timothy's days were far from routine as I long for. You would think Paul in his letter would give him one of those "it's going to be OK" or "you're doing a great job" talks but he doesn't. This is what he says "Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel" 2 Timothy 2:8. Paul brings his weary disciple's focus back to the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ, the object of our worship, the very center of our lives, our salvation and more than I could ever describe in words. This video the supremacy of Christ has been circulated before but I thought you would enjoy a worshipful exposition of the glories of Christ. May Christ bring hope and joy into our days.

"Good morning LG friends,
As I look out my hospital window and see large industrial sized air conditioning pipes, I'm reminded that my joy does not come from my health or a beautiful view of God's creation out my window. This world is not our home. In fact many times Scripture says that we are aliens in this world. May that be our prayer. For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all (Christ), therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15"
