A Heart after God's Own Heart!!
This is a old picture. Its the best I have right now! |
Reading his first one again, I hear his heart desiring routine with no idea of what the next couple of days would look like. Although he desired routine he was reminded, as Timothy was of the supremacy of the Lord!
One may actually find this a little funny! God really does have a sense of humor. It would be sinful to say he is a little sarcastic. That's just me trying to convince myself sarcasm is not a sin!!!
Enjoy these emails!! Thanks Babe!!
"Good afternoon friends,
The past week has been out of the ordinary for many of you and me included. I may be alone here but my heart longs for routine. Get up on time, be productive at work, be healthy, be happy, be entertained, no drama, no sickness and all that stuff which is not sinful in itself until we place it as an object of worship consuming our life and thoughts. In Paul's letter to Timothy we find a weary Timothy worn down by false teachers, persecution and even suffering in his health. Timothy's days were far from routine as I long for. You would think Paul in his letter would give him one of those "it's going to be OK" or "you're doing a great job" talks but he doesn't. This is what he says "Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel" 2 Timothy 2:8. Paul brings his weary disciple's focus back to the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ, the object of our worship, the very center of our lives, our salvation and more than I could ever describe in words. This video the supremacy of Christ has been circulated before but I thought you would enjoy a worshipful exposition of the glories of Christ. May Christ bring hope and joy into our days.
"Good morning LG friends,
As I look out my hospital window and see large industrial sized air conditioning pipes, I'm reminded that my joy does not come from my health or a beautiful view of God's creation out my window. This world is not our home. In fact many times Scripture says that we are aliens in this world. May that be our prayer. For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all (Christ), therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15"
